Take Care Of Yourself
We live in a world where being busy is often mistaken for being productive.
You take care of your family.
You show up for work.
You support your friends.
You solve everyone else's problems.
And somewhere along the way, you start putting yourself last.
You tell yourself:
“I'll rest later.”
“I'll see a doctor when I have time.”
“I have too many responsibilities right now.”
But here is something important to remember:
Taking care of yourself is not selfish.
Your health is the foundation that allows you to care for the people and responsibilities that matter to you.
Resting when you're exhausted is not laziness.
Eating well is not a luxury.
Making time for exercise is not a waste of time.
Going for a medical checkup is not something to be ashamed of.
Protecting your mental well-being is not weakness.
You cannot continuously pour from an empty cup.
Taking care of yourself means giving your body and mind the attention they deserve — not because you care less about others, but because you understand that you matter too.
So today, ask yourself:
When was the last time I genuinely took care of myself?
Maybe it's time to stop postponing your health.
Start small. Get enough rest. Eat better. Move your body. Manage your stress. Talk to someone when you need help. And seek medical attention when something doesn't feel right.
Because your health deserves a place on your priority list.
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish.
It is responsible.
It is necessary.
And sometimes, it is one of the best things you can do for the people who depend on you.— Dr. UZ
